The Emporia Pro Level 2 EV Charger comes with the Vue Energy Monitor and two 200 amp mains sensors in the box, which enables PowerSmart to function. Already have an Emporia Classic EV Charger installed? You can still upgrade and add PowerSmart for an additional cost.
PowerSmart regulates power to your charger to automatically use the maximum safe power based on your home's overall electrical usage during a charging session. By utilizing Emporia's Vue Energy Monitor, PowerSmart monitors your energy usage in real-time. This allows PowerSmart to allocate only the available panel capacity to your electric vehicle charger, guaranteeing that it never exceeds the maximum panel capacity.
The Vue Energy Monitor comes in the box with the Emporia Pro EV Charger, and can be installed in your electrical panel at the same time as the charger. Professional installation is required.
50% of homes cannot handle a Level 2 charger without a pricey panel upgrade. PowerSmart changes that and lets you skip the thousands of dollars in electrical work. Whether you have just one Emporia charger or need to coordinate multiple EV charging circuits, PowerSmart safeguards your electrical system.
PowerSmart monitors your energy usage in real-time and allocates only the available capacity in your panel to your EV charger, ensuring you never exceed your panel's capacity. When other appliances are not drawing power, PowerSmart temporarily reallocates that available power to your EV, keeping charging efficient while protecting against overloading your electrical system.
View your home's real-time energy usage, see how PowerSmart is optimizing your EV charging, and manage your charging schedule, all from your smartphone or computer.
